President’s Message

At Western Connecticut State University our mission is to help students explore areas of study and learn to adapt in an ever-changing world. By introducing students to a variety of disciplines and teaching methods, we help you find the path that is the best for you. We also offer a campus life that is rich with opportunities to learn outside the classroom, which prepares you for a lifetime of personal and professional growth.

Our campus represents the diversity that characterizes public higher education today. Some students are traditional college age and live on campus; others are balancing their studies while caring for families and working. We provide the resources to encourage every student, from organized clubs to career counseling and tutoring.

Western Connecticut State University also participates with the community in campus and community events and has expanded the physical structure of our campus. We recently renovated Higgins Hall with a new television production studio, graphics lab and enhanced classrooms. We take every opportunity to provide our students with the very best support so that they can focus on their goals.
