McCartney.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><strong>Accreditation<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Ancell School of Business (ASB) is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Program Overview and Mission<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Western\u2019s Master of Health Administration (M.H.A.) program prepares students for managerial positions in a range of health services organizations. The MHA program is an online program designed for part-time study; classes are offered online.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Program Learning Outcomes<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>1.\u00a0 Demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills when facilitating group interactions, preparing written analyses, presenting compelling arguments and solutions, preparing well-documented plans, reports, and papers and when sharing core\u00a0\u00a0 health administration principles, concepts and practices. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>2.\u00a0 Apply leadership techniques appropriate for the context to inspire and influence individuals and teams to pursue a shared vision and goals. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>3.\u00a0 Demonstrate awareness of the multidisciplinary nature of healthcare operations and take responsibility for acting effectively and professionally in teams as a team leader and\/or as a member. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>4.\u00a0 Apply critical thinking and analytical skills to assess situations, identify challenges and opportunities, solve problems, implement solutions, and evaluate results in health care delivery. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>5. \u00a0 Make decisions and conduct oneself according to high ethical and professional standards. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>6.\u00a0 Apply knowledge of management and leadership theories and practices to design, organize, mange and improve health care systems and organizations in compliance with industry standards and overall mission. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>7.\u00a0 Apply the knowledge of health care organization&#8217;s structure, operation, finance, accounting, technology and context to design systems of care, develop operational plans and strategic plans in line with organization&#8217;s overall mission and strategy. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>8. \u00a0 Identify and evaluate ways to strengthen the U.S. healthcare system by critically comparing it to international health care systems.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Admission Requirements<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Admission to the M.H.A. program requires submission of the following materials: <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a completed application for graduate study &#8211; Online application: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\/admissions\/apply\/\">https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\/admissions\/apply\/<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li>submit official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate courses and degrees<\/span><\/li>\n<li>submit two letters of recommendation<\/span><\/li>\n<li>submit\u00a0a current resume or curriculum vita<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Once the application\u00a0has been submitted,\u00a0the applicant will meet with the program coordinator to complete the application process, to review the program requirements, and to design a course of study.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Criteria for admission to the program include the following:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2.50 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) undergraduate grade point average<\/span><\/li>\n<li>at least one year of full-time work experience or equivalent.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Previous academic achievements, letters of recommendation, and work experience are all important factors. For example, a record of appropriate employment at increasing levels of responsibility and supervision or significant involvement in community organizations might be considered.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Degree Requirements<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The M.H.A. degree will be conferred upon the matriculated M.H.A. graduate student who has <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>completed\u00a0the required 36 semester hours from the\u00a0three groupings <\/span><\/li>\n<li>completed the program within an six-year period<\/span><\/li>\n<li>a cumulative GPA of 3.0 (B) or better<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Waiver of Courses<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>A maximum of nine graduate credits may be waived (with substitution) based on undergraduate course work. The total number of waived and transferred course credits may not exceed 15 semester hours.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Transfer of Courses<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>A maximum of nine graduate credits from other institutions may be transferred to the M.H.A. program.
