Kuhn\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;font-size: small\"><strong>Program<\/strong> <strong>Overview and Mission<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;font-size: small\">The Master of Science (M.S.) in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) has a requirement of thirty credits. The program is housed in the Education and Educational Psychology Department. The M.S. in ABA offers courses of study students can apply toward advanced degrees or toward careers as Board-Certified Behavior Analysts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;font-size: small\">\u00a0The mission of Western Connecticut State University\u2019s ABA program is to provide high-quality behavior analytic instruction to practitioners.\u00a0 We offer courses with advanced online technology in an academic environment dedicated to education and research.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;font-size: small\">\u00a0<strong>Program Learning Goals and Objectives <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;font-size: small\">1. Use assistive technology to promote the skills of speaking, reading, writing, and listening with individuals with developmental disabilities who require behavioral modifications.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;font-size: small\">2.\u00a0Prepare and submit a competitive grant proposal to a public or private organization.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;font-size: small\">3.\u00a0Evaluate research for utility in the practice of diagnosing and treating individuals with developmental disabilities or behavior modifications.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;font-size: small\">4.\u00a0Demonstrate knowledge and expertise in all areas of the Behavior Analyst Task ListG Fourth\/FiJh Edition.\u00a0hKp:\/\/www.bacb.com\/Downloadfiles\/TaskList\/BACB_Fourth_Edi&#8217;on_Task_List.pdf.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;font-size: small\">\u00a0<strong>Admission Requirements<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;font-size: small\">Applicants who wish to be admitted to the M.S. in ABA must submit the following materials to the Office of Graduate Admissions:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;font-size: small\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>1. Application for admission to the\u00a0Office of Graduate Admissions\u00a0and a $50 application fee<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;font-size: small\">\u00a02. Applicants for the M.S. in Applied Behavior Analysis must hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution of higher education.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;font-size: small\">\u00a03. one official transcript mailed to the\u00a0Office of Graduate Admissions\u00a0from each college or university previously attended, including all earned grades and degree<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;font-size: small\">\u00a04. Applicant\u2019s cumulative undergraduate grade point average (GPA) must be at least a 2.8 for admission into program.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;font-size: small\">\u00a0<strong>Degree Requirements<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;font-size: small\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>1. Board-certified Behavior Analyst core coursework: EPY641, EPY642, EPY643, EPY644, and EPY645, for a total of 19 credits<strong>.<\/strong> The applicant must complete 309 classroom hours of graduate-level instruction (see Acceptable Coursework below) in the following content areas and for the number of hours specified:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;font-size: small\">Ethical and Professional Conduct-60 hours<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;font-size: small\">Concepts and Principles of Behavior Analysis-45 hours<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;font-size: small\">Measurement-25 hours\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;font-size: small\">Experimental Design-24 hours<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;font-size: small\">Identification-30 hours\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;font-size: small\">Fundamental Elements of Behavior Change-45 hours<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;font-size: small\">Intervention &amp; Behavior Change Considerations-10 hours\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;font-size: small\">Behavior Change Systems-15 hours<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;font-size: small\">Implementation, Management and Supervision-10 hours<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;font-size: small\">Discretionary-45 hours<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;font-size: small\">2. Complete an additional 11 credits in Applied Behavior Analysis: EPY651, EPY652, EPY653, and EPY654.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;font-size: small\">3. Students whose work is of marginal quality, less than a B, in all M.S. in Applied Behavior Analysis courses or who demonstrate personal qualities that are not conducive to the role of Board-certified Behavior Analyst will not be recommended for continuation in the program.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;font-size: small\">4. Students are required to visit http:\/\/bacb.com regularly and keep up to date with all requirements to sit for the examination and become a Board-certified Behavior Analyst.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;font-size: small\">ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT FOR EXAM ELIGIBILITY<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;font-size: small\">1. Students must complete fieldwork experience within three choices: supervised independent fieldwork (1,500 hours), practicum (1,000 hours),\u00a0or intensive practicum (750 hours). The fieldwork experience is done independent of WCSU.
