Program Overview and Mission<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Homeland security professionals work in local, state, and federal governments.\u00a0Dozens of federal agencies employ graduates with a master\u2019s degree in homeland security.\u00a0The DHS had 188,000 employees in 2010 and now\u00a0more than 240,000 employees in jobs that range from aviation and border security to emergency response, from cybersecurity analyst to chemical facility inspector.\u00a0According to the DHS website, “DHS offers talented new professionals flexible work schedules, student loan repayment, tuition reimbursement programs and more in a generous benefits package.\u201d\u00a0A graduate degree in this field is designed to prepare the next generation of homeland security professionals for leadership positions across the public and private sectors.<\/span><\/p>\n

The M.S. in Homeland Security program is designed entirely standard 16-week ONLINE program<\/strong> (FALL\/SPRING) and SUMMER 1 with interactive (audio and visual) capabilities for instructors and the students. The program will start in Fall 2022. The graduate program will adopt\u00a0EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING\u00a0<\/em>at every stage of students’ education.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Master’s program also emphasizes the data-driven instructional approach<\/strong> and data analytics and Geographical Information Systems (GIS) methods in its Capstone projects.<\/span><\/p>\n

Objective 1 \u2013 LEADERSHIP AND ETHIC:<\/strong> Program graduates will demonstrate leadership adherence to ethical decision-making processes to implement homeland security strategies and emergency management plans.<\/span><\/p>\n
