Mission Statement
The mission of the School of Visual, Performing, and Communication Arts is to promote intellectual inquiry, advance knowledge, and cultivate creativity between faculty and students through teaching, research, projects, and the application of skills in real-world settings.
The School provides its students with a superior education, fosters excellence in creative research and discovery, nurtures ethical and moral decision-making, encourages leadership, and contributes to the cultural enrichment of the state and region.
The School serves the general education component at WCSU by providing a unique perspective for thinking about and understanding other disciplines. The richness of Communication and the Arts contributes to human achievement, connection, and a deeper shared experience.

Certain areas of study within the School of Visual and Performing Arts require the completion and passing of an audition or portfolio review for acceptance into the program.
